Halfway through the application phase for the Gottfried Böhm Scholarship

Cologne, 10 March 2025 - The application phase for the second round of the Gottfried Böhm Scholarship has reached the halfway point. Postgraduate architects and urban planners have until 31 May 2025 to submit their applications for the residency scholarship in Cologne.

The scholarship offers the winner the opportunity to spend a year developing a visionary urban planning project for Cologne and the region. In return, the scholarship holders receive free accommodation, a workplace in a creative environment and a monthly grant of 2,500 euros. The next funding period begins in October 2025.

Support for creative and visionary projects

The Gottfried Böhm Fellowship was established in 2023 to honour the work of the renowned architect and Pritzker Prize winner Gottfried Böhm. It focuses on the interactions between architecture and urban planning. The initiator and patron is Lord Mayor Henriette Reker, the call for proposals and support is organised by the Association of Friends and Sponsors of the Cologne University of Applied Sciences e.V.

Presentation of the project results

At the end of the scholarship year, the concepts developed will be presented at Cologne City Hall and exhibited for a fortnight in the Spanish Building. There is also the opportunity to publish the project in specialist publications and thus make it accessible to a wider audience.
